Pre-K and Kindergarten Social

    Grandparents' Week - A week long event for Grandparents, as well as other relatives/friends to come to school to spend time with their special student. Each day is assigned to a grade(s).  While visitors are welcome at any time, Grandparents or special guests are given the VIP treatment on their designated day.  Sometimes classes have a special event planned.

        Falcon Fix Up - Ms. Mitchell and teachers submit a wish list of repairs or projects for classrooms and school-wide projects.  The projects may include: painting, boards hung, coat hooks installed, shelving added to closets, landscaping, miscellaneous cleaning, and other odd jobs.  This event takes place during a weekend.

    Carpool - A program that assists with keeping the carpool line moving during morning drop off.  classroom parents volunteer to help keep traffic moving along the drop off area, opening and closing doors for students/parents, and greeting students to start the day with a smile.

    Go Green -  A program to educate, encourage, and facilitate recycling at Fulbright.

Grounds/Playground/Garden – Plans enhancements to the school grounds and playground.

Student Programs & Activities

 

Directory A school directory is published shortly after classes begin.  The directory lists for each class:  students, parent/guardian, address, phone number, and email.  One directory is free to each household; additional copies may be purchased.

  Field Day A day of fun for the students including games, dancing, popcorn, and snow cones.  Some teacher plan a picnic lunch and some plan a special activity for the afternoon.

Fifth Grade Celebration – Organizes the end-of-elementary-school celebration for fifth graders.

Library

 

Accelerated Reader – A program that helps to encourage reading and comprehension.  Students read books and take online tests.  The students earn points based on the level of book and test score.  With the points the students earn, they can "buy" items at the AR store.  The AR store is open at the end of every nine weeks.  The items in the AR store are provided by the PTA.

Book Fair – An event held at Barnes and Noble.  Fun activities are planned throughout the day.  The school receives a portion of sales made by Fulbright shoppers.  The funds benefit the Fulbright Library.

RIF A program to encourage reading.  Each students is provided with a reading level appropriate book; students are allowed to keep that book.  The books are purchased by the PTA.  This event is held three times per year.

   Yearbook – PTA helps put the Fulbright yearbook together, takes pictures for the yearbook throughout the school year, and coordinates yearbook sales.

Fundraising  

 Box Tops for Education – Students and parents collect Box Tops from General Mills products to be turned into their teacher.  Box Top collection is two to three times per year.  Classrooms that collect the most Box Tops during the collection period receives a reward.

Fall Carnival – The PTA provides carnival games, cake walk, inflatable jumps, and other fun activities.  Food and drinks are available for purchase.  Each class is asked to volunteer to work a booth for the event.

  Kroger Gift Cards – Coordinate the distribution of the Kroger cards and create new and creative ideas to start and keep people using them.

Father Daughter Dance - A dance that allows daughters at Fulbright to invite that special man (Dad, Grandfather, etc) to a night of dancing, music, and fun.  It is a great opportunity to celebrate being a girl.

Swamp Stomp - A fun fundraiser for parents only.  A ticket buys dinner, drinks, and dancing.  Silent and live auction with items from the children's art and local businesses.

  Appreciation/Sunshine – Coordinates the appreciation activities for our school staff.  Also sends birthday cards and gifts on national appreciation days.
