The children are very excited about the caterpillars that they are observing.  In about two weeks, they will become butterflies and will need a home.  Several years ago, a butterfly garden was built in the Fulbright Falcon Forest near the Pre-K playground.  No one has cared for it since.  I would love for our class to pull the weeds and plant new plants this week to attract butterflies.  Hopefully our butterflies will stay in the garden so that we can enjoy them.  There are many plants that attract butterflies.  If you have a plant growing in your yard that we can transplant into the butterfly garden or would be willing to purchase a plant for the garden we could begin our work.  Your child will plant and care for his or her addition to the garden.  A few suggestions of plants include:

 Black Eyed Susan

 Coneflower

Milkweed

Zinnia

Marigold

Shasta Daisy

Snap Dragon

There are many others and any "butterfly" plant would be appreciated!
