• Junior Gardens & Grounds Committee 2012

Hello Fulbright parents, students and teachers!  Although pansies and cabbage are thriving in our Fulbright gardens, during cold winter months, it’s an ideal time to begin planning springtime gardens!  The Junior Garden Committee is up to the task!  Their first guest arrived Thursday, Mr. Bo Bennett, an organic gardener from Whole Foods Produce, who talked to the committee as well as 5th grade classes about the “science” of gardening as well as what it means to be a green campus.

These hard working 4th and 5th grade students have special plans for Fulbright this spring and will be involving all students from Pre-K through 5th grades!  If you’d like to help, contact the co chairs this year, Carson Young and Merideth West, or leave your name and contact information at the front office and they will contact you.   The next meeting will be held soon so look for upcoming announcements.

Very special events are ahead but we need your help to make them happen!  If you or someone you know would like to donate time to weed or water, share gardening tips, gloves, tools, cedar mulch for gardens ($3 per bag at Home Depot), or an industrial sized hose cart please notify the Jr. G&G as soon as possible!  They would love to hear from you before they start spring planning for Fulbright’s first organic garden!  Go Jr. G&G!!
