PLEASE continue to read for at least 30 minutes every night.  Continue to practice addition and subtraction math facts.

FYI:  I will not be at school Friday the 24th or Monday the 27th!!!!  I will be attending a math class on Friday and I have some things I need to take care of Monday.  Thank you for understanding!!!!!

WEEK # 25

Tuesday, February 14 at 1:30-Valentine Party.  All parents are welcome to join us.

Beginning this week there will NOT be a math study sheet coming home.  We will be giving a mixed review of all the facts that the children have had for the rest of the year.  PLEASE review math facts every night.  They will have a math test every week.

This week we will be working on:

  • cause and effect.
  • inferring and predicting.
  • fluency in reading.
  • compound words.
  • short vowel e…….ea.
  • hour and half hour.
  • addition and subtraction.
  • story problems.
  • George Washington.

 

SPELLING WORDS

Each day the flag goes up the flagpole.

WEEK # 24

  • Monday, February 6- send finished valentines to school.
  • Thursday, February 9- send all supplies for the party to school except the ice cream.
  • Friday, February 10-Parent Teacher conference day.  I have already had conferences with many of you.  I am looking forward to visiting with the rest of you. Read, read, and read with your children.
  • Monday, February 13- Professional Development Day—Students out.
  • We need dry erase markers for math.  If anyone could help us out I would appreciate it!!!!!!

This week we will be learning about:

  • Abraham Lincoln, Black History, Valentines Day.
  • Conclusions, monitoring, clarifying, fluency, synonyms, and intonation.
  • Vowel pairs oa, ow.
  • Phonograms –ow,-oat.
  • Contractions‘ve,‘re.
  • Tens and ones and reviewing other math skills.
  • WORDS TO KNOW: done, great, laugh paper, soon, talk, were, and work.

SPELLING WORDS: show, blow, road, row, show, toad, grow, boat, flown low, coat, and toast.

 

DICTATION SENTENCES:

The birds have flown away.

Can you show me how to ride a bike?

 

I enjoy your children.  They have really made a lot of progress!!!  I am so proud of them.  Keep up the GREAT work!!!!
